Kimberly started working on the Ring Thing® in 2013 while working full-time at UC San Diego, where over her 33-year career she held positions as Administrative Director of the Center for AIDS Research and Director of Clinical Operations with the Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study.

She worked on the Ring Thing® as she could while engaged in a her career. Over the 8 year development period, she received 3 patents and a trademark for the Ring Thing®. An active Rotarian, Kimberly is active in community service projects, with a focus on anti-human trafficking efforts. A portion of each Ring Thing® sale is donated to anti-human trafficking non-profits.
